John Applegate has everything a man in 1948 could want: a beautiful home, a perfect family, and a new job promotion that is sending him up the ladder at the Billington Tribune.

 

 

But his first task as Chief Reporter sends him into the world of the Motel Rasdell - the sleaziest but most lovable motel this side of the Charles River. There, he meets Eve - the motel's receptionist and part-time hooker who gives him the story he needs to send him to the top. But when his article threatens to shut down the Motel for good, the "Rasdwellers" band together to save the only home they've ever known, and they plan on taking John and his impeccable reputation down in the process. Only one family will get out alive - will it be the picture-perfect Applegates, or the ragtag Rasdwellers?
